Pecu Novus 3.0 “Themis” Second Phase Upgrade and ERC‑20 Interoperability

Pecu Team

The Pecu Novus Blockchain Network is entering a new phase of global interoperability with the upcoming Pecu 3.0 “Themis” Second Phase Upgrade, scheduled to roll out in late March 2026. Building on the major consensus and infrastructure enhancements introduced in the 2025 Themis release, including the hybrid Proof‑of‑Time + Proof‑of‑Stake model and the open‑sourcing of the network’s Rust‑based codebase, the next stage of Themis will introduce a native ERC‑20 communication layer. This upgrade will allow the Pecu Novus blockchain to communicate directly with the Ethereum ecosystem, enabling PECU and all Pecu‑minted tokens to be held and transacted using ERC‑20‑compliant wallets, custodial systems and trading platforms.

This marks a significant milestone in Pecu Novus’s evolution as a scalable, enterprise‑grade blockchain infrastructure designed for global adoption.

The Themis upgrade, first deployed in September 2025, introduced a hybrid Proof‑of‑Time (PoT) + Proof‑of‑Stake (PoS) consensus model. This model enhances scalability, fairness and global participation while maintaining the deterministic execution and low‑cost transaction environment that Pecu Novus is known for.

Key features of the Themis upgrade include:

  • Hybrid PoT–PoS consensus for improved efficiency and security
  • Delegator–Validator model enabling broader participation
  • Open‑source Rust codebase released on GitHub, increasing transparency and developer access
  • Enhanced scalability to support enterprise‑level tokenization and high‑volume settlement
  • Improved developer tooling for building financial‑grade smart contracts

The March 2026 extension of Themis builds on this foundation by adding cross‑chain communication capabilities.

The New ERC‑20 Communication Layer

The upcoming upgrade introduces a native interoperability layer that allows Pecu Novus to communicate with the Ethereum blockchain using ERC‑20‑standard interfaces. This does not convert Pecu Novus into an Ethereum‑based chain, instead it creates a bridge‑level compatibility layer that exposes ERC‑20‑compliant functions while preserving Pecu Novus’s unique architecture.

What This Enables

  • PECU becomes ERC‑20 compatible
  • All Pecu‑minted (PNP16) tokens (DCNs, DBTs, Venture Tokens, XMG Series Tokens, CryptoPairs, RWA tokens etc) can be represented as ERC‑20 assets

Tokens should be able to be held in:

  • MetaMask
  • Coinbase Wallet
  • Ledger/Trezor
  • Fireblocks, BitGo, Anchorage, Copper
  • Any ERC‑20‑compliant exchange or trading platform

Institutions can integrate Pecu‑based assets without custom infrastructure and developers can build cross‑chain applications using familiar ERC‑20 tooling which dramatically expands the reach of the Pecu Novus ecosystem. This was purposely integrated for the benefit of the entire Pecu Novus ecosystem.

What this does and why it was essential for this second phase of Pecu 3.0 Themis to roll out.

Institutional Accessibility

Institutions overwhelmingly rely on ERC‑20 infrastructure for custody, reporting, and compliance. By enabling ERC‑20 compatibility it makes Pecu‑based assets plug‑and‑play, custodians can support PECU and Pecu‑minted tokens without custom integrations, trading platforms can list Pecu assets using existing ERC‑20 rails and this removes one of the largest barriers to institutional adoption.

Liquidity Expansion

ERC‑20 compatibility opens potential access to global exchanges, DeFi liquidity pools, Cross‑chain trading, Institutional OTC desks, Tokenized‑asset marketplaces and it would have an impact on the liquidity for PECU and all Pecu‑minted tokens.

Developer Growth

Developers will be able to do a number of things that they could do before such as build cross‑chain applications, integrate Pecu Novus into Ethereum‑based tooling, use ERC‑20‑standard libraries and SDKs and deploy multi‑chain tokenization frameworks. The open‑source Rust codebase further accelerates this growth.

Enterprise and RWA Tokenization

Pecu Novus is already positioned as an enterprise‑grade blockchain for tokenized real world assets such as commodity and currency exposure, tokenized credit instruments, multi‑asset digital asset treasuries and well positioned for utilization for regulated tokenized securities from major exchanges such as Nasdaq and NYSE.

ERC‑20 compatibility allows these instruments to be held in institutional custody, they can be integrated into ERC20 compatible compliance and trading systems or possibly used as collateral in multi‑chain environments. What this does is significantly strengthens Pecu Novus’s role in real‑world‑asset tokenization.

The March 2026 second phase of the Pecu 3.0 “Themis” upgrade represents a major step forward for the Pecu Novus blockchain. This was important for this layer to be added so that the Pecu Novus ecosystem, supporters, stakeholders and builders can get the most expanded reach possible. By enabling ERC‑20 communication and compatibility, Pecu Novus expands its reach into the global Ethereum ecosystem while preserving the deterministic, enterprise‑grade architecture that defines the network.

This upgrade enhances liquidity, accessibility, institutional adoption and developer engagement and positions Pecu Novus as a leading infrastructure layer for the next generation of tokenized assets and compliant digital‑finance systems.

We will continue to enhance the Pecu Novus blockchain to expand it’s utility for the benefit of the entire blockchain community, Pecu Novus and beyond.
